You can't tell me Suzanne Collins wasn't planning this from the beginning of the hunger games series. Haymitch's personality, all the connections to other characters, literally everything in the book. Fucking masterpiece.

It's been a while since I read the Hunger Games trilogy but something about this book felt slightly revisionist, like it was retconning as much as filling in the gaps. It's still good, I enjoy Collins' writing. The ending made me emotional but dragged a little at the same time.
