I found this a very compelling book, it captures the same horror of being in such an oppressive system and brings light to an area of the world we all thought we knew. The commentary on the world is just as prominent and you can tell so much thought has been put into crafting each part of this. I strongly recommend it and it was an emotional read.

read this very passively. there’s no true story here. didn’t like haymitch’s character - how he’s just resigned to it all really but it also makes sense because there is no story here. I wouldn’t even give this a rating it’s kinda just solely a vessel for a blockbuster movie & fan service (there are way too many callbacks and retreading like it’s okay that this wasn’t planned from the start)
