This is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet from Chloe Gongs perspective with added extras that are guaranteed to grip you from the get go.
This story is set in 1926 in Shanghai where the blood feud rages between Juliette and Roma’s families.
To begin with I couldn’t abide Juliettes character which shows how good of an author Chloe is, I found her snobby, moody and extremely annoying.
Juliette and Roma have to team up to find a cure for the madness to cure Romas sister but hiding their alliance proves difficult.
This book gripped me from the beginning the characters are fantastic.
The cliffhanger art he end had me screaming in frustration but a definite must read.

Well, this was definitely interesting to read while also reading 'The Metamorphosis' by Kafka and while sitting on a meadow surrounded by bugs....

All in all, I found this book to be quite enjoyable even though there were some aspects that I didn't find entirely logical. However, the dynamics between Roma and Juliette and Benedikt and Marshall totally made up for it.
A solid four star that I definitely would suggest, especially if you like reading about politics and are not bothered by a slower start.
