This was such a cool role reversal storyline. The additional twists to a classic story were absolutely fascinating! I found the characters loveable and enjoyed every moment of this book!

world building and magic weren’t as fleshed out as they could be, and sometimes the dialogue was a little too modern, but i liked the main characters and their dynamics
Beastly Beauty was an interesting story! It is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with switched rolls which I thought was interesting! It was really fascinating to learn about Arabella and her ladies in waiting! Plus there's a nice chemistry between Beau and Arabella, the main characters it's filled with witty banter with opposites attract and enemies to lovers mixed in it makes for a fun read! So I love retelling! It's always interesting and fun to read the twists the author does and to see how they make the story their own! Overall it was a fun and engaging story! Jennifer Donnelly never ceases to amaze me. She’s been one of my favorite authors ever since I read the Waterfire Saga in elementary school, and when I saw this book I knew I had to pick it up.

I was excited to get into this, especially with the premise being that it's a gender-swapped Beauty and the Beast Retelling. But I‘m not feeling it. Nothing about it was working for me and there is too much on my TBR for me to want to keep going. Even if I do, it might just generously be a 2-star so I decided it was best to just DNF.
