This book... means a lot to me.

I always seem to reread it a couple of times a year. It's my comfort book-- a gentle, warm story to cozy up to. It's amazingly romantic and pleasantly surprising. My first few rereads I always picked up on or saw something new. The characters are believable and the art is perfectly atmospheric even if rough in a few spots.

The story itself is one I cherish very much. It's funny, it's sweet, it's fluffy. I urge anyone who enjoys romance of any kind to pick it up. There's nothing explicit and it's honestly one of my favorite stories (and manga) of all time, time has only strengthened my love for it. Genuinely cannot recommend it enough. I almost wish I could write to Tachibana herself to tell her how much this week-long book means to be, if that's not too dramatic (lol).

Watching the relationship between the two is nice. It's wonderfully paced and the dialogue really shines at times (the ending line stands as one of my favorite lines ever). The cast is great and I feel like I'm with them on that warm Japan day as well. The art has some nice, calm moments as well that really help the atmosphere. The way the art and the story work together is something only a manga could achieve...

I just hope that any part of this review helped encourage you to read it. It's a quick read (only two volumes!) and a great romance so you're sure to get *some* enjoyment out of it, which I hope you do! If you're looking for a romantic, sweet read for a relaxing day, please pick this up!

It's cute but like, kind of shallow? I feel like this is the type of story that only makes sense in yaoi/BL-world and not at all in reality but BL is mostly a product of women's fantasies anyway. Maybe I'm just over this kind of thing now.

Okay, this is a lot more well-constructed than I thought it’d be! A week-long romance of course would be sweet and dramatic, but I was worried it would feel rushed…and it wasn’t! When you put a timeline on falling in love, it increases the pacing because of expectations. Yuzuru and Seryo’s relationship was pretty evenly paced within that pacing though.

I really like the dynamic between the characters! Their personalities were nice compliments to each other without the impulsive one (aka Yuzuru) overpowering the sweet/calm one (Seryo). The only thing I would’ve liked to see expanded on was the current relationship between female Shino and Seryo and maybe a scene where Seryo explains it to Yuzuru. BUT I still give the story and characters 5 stars! And man, Rihito Takarai knows how to draw some pretty guys!

This wasn't my favorite. The whole time, it just felt like something was missing.

The art was lovely! I have no complaints about the art style and I liked how everyone looked different from each other, because some mangas don't really give a lot of unique aspects of the side characters in the stories.

The premise of this is that, every Monday, Seryo agrees to date someone for one week. Impulsively, Shino decides to ask him out one Monday and is surprised Seryo agrees. Like I think a few days may have passed with him still being unsure that Seryo really agreed to date him.
SpoilerI understand the premise and that teenagers can be really 0 to 100 about affection, but it still felt strange to me that, by Sunday, they're saying "I love you"? I just don't think they spent enough time together for that? Add to that, it felt like Shino had never really spoken to Seryo before this week, so it wasn't like they had months of knowing each other beforehand.

The characters didn't feel all that well fleshed out to me.
SpoilerThree times, people tell Seryo that Shino's issue is that he's impulsive, often insensitive and self centered. And Seryo says he likes that about him. Okay? And Seryo is described as handsome, flighty (considering his dating style) and just likable. I don't think those were traits that made the characters feel real. I sort of get that Seryo is attracted to people that go after what they want, as both Shino's appear to be that type of person, but it seemed like more emphasis was placed on him liking that Y. Shino just didn't consider anyone's feelings over the fact that he was decisive. So... I just couldn't buy the romance here.

I spent most of the book unclear if Shino even liked Seryo romantically as it seemed like he just asked him out to see if Seryo would do it. So, in conclusion, loved the art but the story was lacking for me.
