What a charming romantic comedy.

While a bit predictable it was still a fun read and Nina is so relatable. Her love of books, her compassion, how she finds herself and makes a new home and life.

Also completely obsessed with Scotland now and I think I'm going to move Outlander up on my list.

Besides too many uses of the Word "utterly", this book was fun. It wasn't extremely exceptional, but there are quite a few great points. It was just fun. I agree with some other comments that the book did take a turn. I expected it to be a journey of this shy but strong, independent Nina becoming badass, but it did become a little too cheesy romantic for me.

I loved the first 40% of this book. It started as a cozy, little slice of life ode to books and book lovers about a woman trying to open her own little book van in the Scottish highlands. It was lovely and wholesome.
A little before halfway, it turned into a completely different book with a storyline that was all over the place, random unnecessary side plots, long drawn out scenes, no longer about the book shop/van, and completely different vibes the first half of the book. The naive main character became insufferable and felt like a bad contemporary romance with unlikeable characters.

I felt really read by this book: needing to leave a big city, a protagonist going beyond her shyness to make her dreams come true, and a romance that very much reflects my own ideals.. I kinda feared that this would be a boring and empty read, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this soothing and calm story set in a charming place. After thinking about it for a while I do think it's really unrealistic, but whatever I love idealisation (#infp things). Only hiccup: why do they suddenly decide to fuck each other for 20 pages in the last 20 pages of the book. what was that for. where did that come from

2.5 stars. Fluffy and fun, this was a nice palate cleanser, although I doubt I'll read more of her books anytime soon. Too many portions of the dialogue were written in all capital letters to indicate shouting or excitement, it was completely unnecessary.
