This romance was predictable, but lovely. Of course, the librarian main character wouldn't recognize a Mr. Darcy romance if it jumped up and bit her. I'm a bit disappointed that the book recommendations offered to costumers were, in reality, fictitious. Still enjoyed this quick read. There was a couple F-bombs and one sex scene, but I'd say it was PG-13.

I always hesitate when it comes to books that try to encapsulate the incredibly personal experience of either writing or, in this case, reading. This book confirmed my fears. I always find it hard to read, and even a bit offensive at times, when authors try to tell me how my reading is or how it should be. Too personal. You don't know me. Shoo.

Anyways. For the most part, it was an okay read. A lot of telling--we don't need to read Nina's internal monologue about her boy woes; trust the reader to infer those feelings based on what we see.

Also why in the ever-loving fuck is the American version called The Bookshop on the Corner?! It's in a VAN.

So. I read another one of this author’s romance novels, and it was really nice and peaceful. The silly protagonist was able to achieve creative bliss through hard work, AND get the man all in a very aesthetically pleasing, unrealistic way. I really enjoyed the escape of it all, so I picked up another one of her books to read- this was my mistake.

This author creates a really lovely ambiance that allows for a lovely escape from reality, but her plot was. the. exact. same. thing. Do not read her books back-to-back because you will read the exact same thing except in a different place, with a different hobby, and different names.

That being said, if I hadn’t read her other book before this one I would have thoroughly enjoyed this book as well!

Consider yourself warned.

Thoroughly enjoyed how cute and adorable it was. It wasn't groundbreaking in any way, but it was a fun and easy read

I thought it was such a fun read! The ending got a little adult, but throughout there was fairly little swearing, etc. & I thought the setting and subject matter were a lot of fun!
