I loved this. Abby Jimenez always writes her characters with such careful personalities and trauma but the storyline gives such space for growth. I loved Emma and Justin’s meet-cute through a Reddit AITA post and that both their pasts played such huge parts in their present dating life.

Without going too far into the weeds, this book has a great mix of tender, heartfelt moments with heavy somber points in both character’s lives. Justin has by far been one of my favorite MMCs and is the pure definition of “if he wanted to, he would” in the way he cares for Emma.

Another great read, and will have to catch the others in this series!

Required a little too much suspension of disbelief for me. I did find myself wanting to know how things would all work out for the main characters, and the writing was compelling and moved quickly.

The story was wonderful and I definitely got invested in the characters. I loved that Minnesota was a character.

It’s truly baffling to me that Emma, a medical professional, has zero idea her mom is bipolar. “I don’t know what’s wrong with her” got reallllly old the fourth or fifth time Emma said it when it was super clear. Maybe the author wanted to skirt around it? But yeesh. I also would have loved to know more about Maddy. For such an important character we knew next to nothing about her. Also, this book had EVERYTHING under the sun going on which was kind of exhausting. Jail! A terrible mother! Sickness! Woof. Also, the amount of inane details about every single action a character took was too much.

Very relatable - shout out to all of the "small" runner girlies who are now "big" present girlies <3
