Excellent in its distressing, quick pace. The mental breakdown of a woman left behind, juggling the mental and emotional labor of her family while desperately trying to cling to her own sense of self. The craft is strong; the only thing to dislike is how visceral it is. An uncomfortable read that so clearly underlines a specific type of despair that I think only a woman could know.

The writer has an amazing way of portraying emotions ، it's a raw realistic interpretation of what it's like to be betrayed and abandoned in a long term relationship . After her husband leaves her suddenly for his new lover she starts questioning everything ever since the beginning of their marriage, and what kind of guy would leave her in a day like that with no explanation or remorse? She went hysterical, forgetful, careless, vulgar with her words, couldn't believe she had any beauty left she thought she was withering away with age at 38. She had to deal with everything alone with two children all while she had an immense amount of grief, is shocked and in denial , she couldn't recognize herself any longer. She spiraled downward each day while he renewed life with a much younger woman . she merged herself with him all those years ("I had taken away my own time and added it to his to make him more powerful."I had put aside my own aspirations to go along with his. At every crisis of despair I had set aside my own crises to comfort him. I had disappeared into his minutes" ) building him up to be the man he is now . Of course it's clear she did that while they had a loving stable marriage before that's why It's SO scary but i thought it described the true nature of some men (: ..

Holy shit. This was good in the same way that Notes From the Underground is good. Except that I think this accomplishes it so much better. This story feels so raw and personal and it was hard to remind myself that this was fiction.
