اقتنيته وقرأته لأجل ايلينا، أعدها من أذكى الكُّتاب في هذا القرن، لا أعلم كيف تقدر على تحويل قصة في منتهى البساطة والابتذال، إلى جلسة جميلة لا تمل ولا تكل منها، الى لغة عذبة لذيذة شهية تلتهمها في نفس الجلسة.
ايلينا ذكية في تحويل جملة وحدث رتيب وممل إلى إبداع متقن، أحببت اللغة والجمل والكلمات والتعابير الفريدة، القصة بحد ذاتها ليست رائعة ولا غريبة او حتى مختلفة، على العكس، قصة مكررة ولكن أسلوبها الفريد جعلني اتمسك بالكتاب وأتشوق لقراءة المزيد رغم انعدام عنصر التشويق بالقصة نفسها.
يوجد رسالة بالقصة نعم ولكن بالنسبة لي، ايلينا علمتني كثيراً، علمتني أن أكون فريدة وأعبر بكلماتي الخاصة حتى لو كانت مختلفة أو غير مألوفة، علمتني أن أتلذذ بالتعبير وانتقاء الكلمات والتغيير حتى لا أقع في فخ الرتابة.

I am such a Ferrante fan. She gives a deep understanding of common traumas expressed though ordinary life. The dog, the kids, the neighbor. It's everything you know. It's everything that could happen in your life exposed raw. The ending was quietly perfect.
I was so engrossed in this novel that I downloaded the audio version so I could continue listening on a 2-hour round trip drive that I had to make. I dropped it like a hot potato. They got it all wrong. It sounded like a soap opera featuring an overly dramatic, smug middle-aged American woman. No, no, no. Nothing in this book was excessively sentimental. Olga did not have this confidence.
"The Days of Abandonment" was #92 on The NYT Top 100 Books of the 21st Century. My Brilliant Friend was #1. I loved them both and the whole Neapolitan series. Oh and The Lost Daughter is scary dark.

Se simte mult lipsa experienței lui Ferrante şi faptul că e încă în zona de experimentare. M-a deranjat îndeosebi stângăcia pasajelor în care se străduieşte să fie vulgară; încearcă să epateze, un gest vădit forțat. Totuşi, chiar ea recunoaşte în "Frantumaglia" că scopul său a fost ca, scriind câteva cărți (draft-uri, aş zice eu), să ajungă la cartea pe care doreşte să o scrie pe adevărat, ceea ce a şi făcut.
J'ai eu un peu de mal avec celui là. Je m'attendais à la même écriture et le même rythme que la saga l'amie prodigieuse et ce n'est pas le cas.
Peut être aussi que l'histoire d'une femme qui sombre au fond de la dépression m'a profondément perturbée. J'avais envie de la secouer à chaque page. Puis j'ai compris qu'elle avait besoin de temps pour souffrir, aller au bout de l'abîme pour remonter...
