Brilliant no one writes angry women better. Even if you wouldn't act as she does her motivations and reactions were so clear. Mario is such a wet fish I hated him. The describition of the chaotic day of chaos was so stressful! I had to read over several sittings even though it's not very long. The key a trapped marrige metaphor perhaps? Lots to read into but still so fresh and realisticly grounded. A must read for women, although wasn't sure about the ending would have preferred if it ended after her conversation with her husband. An amazing book got me out of a mini slump.

A very difficult book to read. Elena makes you feel every emotion that Olga is feeling, including the ones where she's spiraling. Incredible writing.

the audacity of men…..have never hated a character as much as i have mario. felt conflicted about olga — was rooting for her sometimes, was frustrated with her at other times, but sympathy always win out because if the situation she was in. really good picture/narration of her spiral and recovery from it
