I went in totally blind and absolutely loved this. It was a quick, easy to follow read for me. I was not expecting much because I haven’t heard a lot of hype around this book, but I’m quite happy I gave it a try. It’s not earth shattering or life changing, but a good solid story.

Every word is intentional. The pacing is perfect. The characters and emotions are real. It’s not a light book, but there is always the sense that something good will carry the day. It’s got elements of fantasy and mystery and horror and romance, but it’s really a book about home.

The best book I have read this year. Buying a hard copy for keeps.
