ļoti vīlos. lasu jau kopš augusta un tikai tagad esmu piebeigusi. kamieļu joki nebija smieklīgi.
Like the others in the series - I really enjoyed this one.
My fave book in the series this far. The book is about a young boy called, Marco. He‘s part of a “family” of “Gypsies”. The leader is about to do something really bad to him, and he escapes. He hides in the woods with a corpse, a corpse that will lead him into even more trouble. Soon everyone is looking for him, including Carl Mørck. Interesting subject, we get to know more about our trio, and a new character is introduced. A bit too long
dark
tense
medium-paced

This one did not compel me the way the other four in the series have. The crime plot wasn't particularly interesting to me (an intersection of Danish street crime and NGO-embezzlement with some murder...), but there was enough development of the main series characters and their relationships to keep me moving on. The fact that the characters do develop so much across each book instead of remaining static stereotypes make this series unique to any other that I've read.
Book 5 of the Department Q series is one of my favorites. It took me a bit of time to get into the story but once I did I was hooked. The Marco Effect is a particularly clever twist in the story. I was drawn to the character from the beginning. By the end I was cheering him on. Another good case solved by the good folks in Dept Q.
Vēl viens trilerdetektīvs par Q modaļu.
Mani nebeidz pārsteigt Jusi Adlera-Olsena izdoma un aizraujošais sižets, kurš atkal neatlaiž kamēr nav izlasīta pēdējā lappuse. Meistarīgi sarakstīts romāns, kurš tur interesē un spriedzē visu laiku.
Esmu kļuvusi par fani šai sērijai!

this book is a little too neatly packaged. is mr Adler Olsen writing for the screen now?
I liked the focus of the book on the immigration and child exploration issues. the mystery was less of a mystery and more- how will Marco survive.
the African child soldiers component was unnecessary. did nothing for the story.
it seems in this book that every relationship, that in the first few books were very interesting, have settled into a cliche of themselves.
Carl's whiny longing for Mona really annoyed, and also served no purpose.
but this was really questionable- the main character in this story, the bright young Marco, who is really smart and tech savvy- who goes online daily- could he not have found out that as a minor he could have easily seek and receive asylum? of course, that will mean there will be no premiss for the book............

This may have been my favorite of the series so far. It was exciting and interesting. as always, Carl and he's team delight with their antics and interactions. I love these books. They are easy, satisfying and extremely enjoyable.
