The closer I get to the end of this series, the more I feel its loss already. I love that the Phoebe and West spent more time together and enjoying one another’s company as opposed to in constant misunderstanding.

West Ravenel is my favorite male main character in this series so far!

He is just so charming and witty. I loved his appearance in all the books prior to this one, and I was extremely excited that he got his own book in the series.

The character development of Phoebe in this book was fantastic to witness. She transforms from a saddened widowed mother of 2 adorable children back into a woman who stands firm and takes control of her own life.

I deeply enjoy how they tied this series to the Wallflower series, which also tied into book 3 of this series.

Phoebe is tender and grieving and so relatable. West made me laugh out loud. His self-deprecating, dry wit is my kryptonite with these historical romance heroes. Mary Jane Wells narrated this beautifully (not a shock, there), and captured West's spunk and comedic timing. Totally recommend this book, not to mention the audio version! It's gold!
