The positives:
From someone who doesn't have a disability, this felt like great disability rep.
The smut was consensual and used real words instead of analogies which is mostly a good thing for me.

The negatives:
This plot is essentially 50 Shades of Gray with disability rep. You have a man who got into tying and everything because of a cougar who taught him the way. He doesn't do relationships and he doesn't do full on sex just everything in between BECAUSE he likes her. Gag. but not in a fun way.

The characters were flat. This book is short, so maybe that's why but they were two dimensional and hard to have much of any feeling about anything going on.

The smut was also rushed. Now full disclosure, smut isn't even always my style when it comes to reading, so it's a hard sell to begin with. Grain of salt there. But even with that, I just didn't believe it. And maybe that's because the characters were flat.

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars!  This was such a cute rom com!  Frankie is a sexologist, who has a podcast and is also in a wheelchair. One of her followers asked a question about accessible role play, which she has never done before.  Frankie needed to research this so that she can respond to the caller, so she reaches out to one of her friends and asks if they know someone knowledgeable in this area.  Her friend connects her with Jay, who teaches accessible role play.  Frankie decides to take his class and there is an instant connection, but the only issue is that Jay has commitment issues, but he is falling for Frankie.  This book has spice and I also learned about ropes and role playing.  This was a fun read!

I loved this

I think the concept was great and interesting but the overall execution of it could have been better. I thought it would be interesting to see how the bdsm aspect would be done with Frankie's handicap but it's not really touched upon within those moments, when that's what would have made this book stand out.
SpoilerAlso Frankie seemed to pressure Jay into sex which I thought was really off putting as it was played off as he really wants to but can't admit it
. The discussion of Frankie's handicap I think was well done besides during the sex scenes where it seems to no longer be mentioned.

[You're an easy man to love, Jay. Very easy.]

This is basically just porn, but it's really good porn.
The only real issue I have with this book is it's too short. It feels like the whole story is just in service of kinky sex, which is cool, but I'd like a little more buildup. The sexual tension during the rope play part is fantastic, but it's pretty quickly resolved.
I do love some inclusive sex positive smut tho. Definitely going to read some more of Mitchell's books.

this was a hot mess from start to finish—i wanted to DNF this one but it was a train wreck i needed to see to the end. i wish i’d stopped at 15%.

ALSO I HAD TO READ THE WORD “SNATCH” THREE TIMES AND I BELIEVE I’M OWED FINANCIAL COMPENSATION. truly horrifying.

Adorable, lighthearted, and romantic. A short and sweet story with a couple short scenes and mentions of rope play.

This is really a shame because I think that the concept of the book is amazing. I love the disability representation especially as it involves sex. The issue is that the plot was really pretty boring and the author tried to fit a whole relationship from start to marriage in a fairly short novel. I think this book could’ve ended after maybe them deciding to date fr and leave the rest to the imagination.

The third act conflict was so dumb and the relationship itself just didn’t have enough time to actually develop so it was just not believable. Furthermore, the side characters didn’t get enough substance.

While the first bondage scene was really hot and I liked it a lot, every sex scene after got worse and worse.

ALSO I SHIT YOU NOT JAY USED THE WORD SNATCH TO REFERENCE HER VAGINA

Totally turned me off

Overall really great idea, good potential, poor execution.

This is a new to me author and was a fun time. The book is less than 300 pages and the overall depth of the plot suffers from that. It is instalove in every sense and the plan is to set up a series with the other friends of the FMC. I was able to appreciate the disability representation and the directness with which the FMC addressed ableism as it appears in her life, though I do not have any firsthand knowledge of those experiences. I may read more from this author, though maybe in another series to get a fuller sense of the style and universe she is weaving.
