This book was such a fun quick read! With disability representation and lots of banter Knot My Type is a story you can easily read in one sitting. I speak for myself and I’ve been a slow reader these days, I started this last night and finished it now. My final rating is 3.5⭐️ because even though it’s a cute romance with important topics I also felt like it was a bit too insta lovey and everything happened way too fast between Frankie and Jay.
All in all it was a fun read and I absolutely loved the girls’ friendship and will definitely be reading their books that are next in the series.

Narrators: Jacob Morgan, Lauri Jo Daniel; I enjoyed the narrators a lot. They brought the characters to life and did a great job.

Frankie is disabled and in a wheelchair. She is a sexogist and has a podcast about accessible time, conversations and play. She is asked about rope play and goes out to seek the information on it. This is when she meets Jay, an educator, rigger and carpenter but he is also a one-night stand kind of guy.

I really liked the accessible rope play and the dismantling of ableist thought processes that people might have that disabled people cannot and do not have spicy time.

I wish the crucial conversations related to Jay's ARC in particular were not so rushed. For someone who is so anti-relationship to be okay with it so quickly with Frankie did a disservice I think to his character development.

I also struggled with Frankie's entire personality being her sexologist/ counselor type role. Even so much that her friends would even say she is pathologizing them.
The labor that goes into being a therapist, confident in this level is emotionally taxing and to not have down time with the people you should be able to let your guard down with sounded exhausting and to be on the receiving end of a friend who is always looking at you as a person as something they need to help "fix" bugged me.

That part might be something that is just very personal and frustrating to me and others might not have that same issue. I am interested in reading more from this author though and seeing her range of writing and character development.

How did she write a book that was cute, spicy, and had amazing representation?

I love books that include all sorts of characters. I loved the information about Shibari and accommodations for differently abled people.
It was a fun and easy read while looking at real issues.

This is just one of those books that really worked for me. I love that it’s short and to the point and the third-act conflict is handled in a way that actual reasonable people would handle it. I just loved Frankie and Jay’s chemistry and I will definitely be reading the other books in this series.

This book was absolutely adorable!!!! She is a doctor who runs a sex positive podcast focusing on accessibility for those with disability. This book was extremley educational for myself and something I truly will remember!!

Frankie is looking for information about Shibari and one of her listeners asked a question about safe rope play. Frankie then finds Jay who is a shibari instructor who teacher accessible rope play! This book was honestly so enjoyable and well done. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer with more build up. I truly enjoyed the characters and the romance. And the spice

This was super cute and spicier than I anticipated (Listen I anticipated spice, I've seen the NSFW covers, and I knew it had rope play) the additional dirty talk was just the best bonus in the world.

Strongly recommend this one!

‘Safe spaces are great but brave spaces are where it’s at for me. And brave spaces mean inviting people in and building connections that might not otherwise exist. They’re all about constructive discomfort.’

Representation matters and I love how this book depicts people who are handicapable. The book does not focus on the differences and does not make it the centre of conflict. They do address issues, discuss preconceived notions, and ableism, but that is not the whole story.

Knot My Type is a beautiful written spicy book.
