The topics explored in this book are fantastic, race, sexuality, power and love are all main themes which are extremely well dissected. The world building and character races were also fascinating as I found the day/biological cycles of the planet and it's people to be a brilliant conceptual driver, however, the range of names, races and places I found to be a bit confusing at times which slowed my pace of reading the book and ultimately led me to drift in and out of interest at times. Perhaps I am not the sci-fi nerd I thought I was but I think a slight faster pacing and smaller cast would've kept me gripped throughout.
