Our lovely Lauren is an awful FMC that I cannot stand and feel has no appreciation for anyone in her life. She is selfish, manipulative, lazy and insane. Her trust in herself lies at zero. Marriage and relationships are WORK, but she sees an easy way out of that work, proceeding to take it again. And again. And again. By the end of the novel, I felt like Lauren learned NOTHING. She always found asinine reasons to send husbands back into the attic. Very rarely was one sent back for a legit reason. She will be getting a divorce very soon after the novel's conclusion.

In short, a very interesting read with really comical points. Huge discussion value.

Such a compelling premise that definitely goes a little off the rails.
For those who have spent time pondering what their life might look like if things had gone differently.

Were introduced to Lauren right as the surrealist shenanigans begin so we don't get much opportunity to get to know her before we see her flummoxed by the changes to her flat and the existence of a Husband she has no recollection of. It might've been worth having an initial chaper of her life before. Her character is sort of revealed through the various lives she could've found herself in. I wanted to see her development but it does feel like she was unhinged. The fact that her internal view wouldn't change when her husband did made her treat the events, including her own actions, as lacking any real ramifications.

I liked the ending though.

amazing concept, way too long.

the first 170 pages could be a full book and everytime i was like “oh are we gonna stick with this husband? is the plot gonna actually follow him for more than 10 pages?” i was surely mistaken.

also, it took a weirdly dark turn 2 different times. *spoilers ahead*
like when she drugs amos and he’s like dying???? and when she threatens another husband with a GUN. like girl what???? i think this book has issues with its tone. it could’ve been really cool to explore the darker parts of the human psyche when put in an unbelievable magical position but instead you get this hodgepodge tone that leaves you with literary whiplash.

the ending was cute tho. even if it was a little crazy. i loved the perspective switch. like yes, lauren does seem crazy!

Really fun. Perfect summer reading.
I has some “Dark Matter” vibes but not as dark. And there no scientific explanation.

A silly goofy time. You can definitely tell the author has a background in game design/ story writing.

I just really loved this! It made me think about life and question what I think is important, it made me check my priorities and what I think my “ideal life” would be. I thought the ending was just what we all deserved and I may never stop crying. Gorgeous book!

I liked the book's premise, but I also don't feel she stuck the landing. It had so much promise, but it left me wanting more from the book than it actually gave me.
