read in 1 sitting!

Y'all...wow this was the perfect book for me. I read this in one sitting. That definitely was not the plan, but I couldn't help myself I had to keep reading to figure out what was happening and I went through it with this one.

Ok now before I overhype this damn book just know that this will appeal to readers like me that enjoy action movie thrillers, with little to no character growth or development - although a strong argument could be made for Claire I suppose. Whatever... I stand by some people might not like this because it has a heavy theatre lean. Claire the protagonist is a Brit in America trying to make it big, but not landing any roles or jobs. She's working as a decoy for a firm of divorce lawyers basically trying to catch men cheating. She seems good at what she does, until one job doesn't go her way. then she lands a different sort of job. This time she has to use her acting skills in ways she never imagined.

If you enjoyed any of JP Delaney's other books I'd like you to try this one. Just come back and let me know what you thought after you do.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. If you’re looking for an original mystery with plenty of twists to keep you guessing, this is it. I greatly enjoyed Believe Me. There were so many layers to this story that I found myself constantly surprised and wondering where the story could possibly go next. Kudos to JP Delaney for taking a chance in reworking a story he previously published under another name and gifting readers with something unlike anything I have read before.

Classic psychological thriller, let's mess with your suspicions and try to guess who the killer is. Great for a summer read because there's still plenty of summer left! Not quite as polished as the author's later written but earlier published "The Girl Before."

I'm looking forward to re- reading this one, i think its the kind of book that will take you on two different adventures the first & second time around. I found myself getting too confused towards the end, but the author ties up just enough lose ends to make it "click" without spelling it all out.

So. Many. Plot. Holes.

This book is so easy to read and a cool thriller which I didn’t expect because I hate books about struggling young actors in America. It’s a rough stage and I’m not here for it. This book is fast like lightning, Claire becomes the decoy for actually catching a serial rich killer. He allegedly kills two prostitutes per year and now he killed his wife, but he kills the girls from a super weird point of view. He gets his inspiration for the murders from Baudelaire’s love affairs. Not a new topic but a nice one, it doesn’t go a lot on the classic side of literature which is great because it’s not a historical novel, it’s a thriller after all.

The fact that Claire slightly falls for him is ludicrous. I mean… girl, get a grip. She believes that the therapist who hired her has something for him… Like he is fine and dandy, innocent and the cops just have it out for him. I don’t trust or like him though but I’ll see.

This novel got completely mental and it is a little eerie like quite terrifying but it’s a fast paced one and I like those thrillers because they are fast sure but the fact that I’m still reading it makes it good. It’s a good one but the kind you buy to keep you busy on a plane ride.

It made me watch Castle again, this novel or the autumn vibe cold rainy weather. I’m just coming alive when autumn is near.

A taki wał!

Read this on the recommendation of @GwenKensinger on YouTube! The audio is incredible and I thought reading the physical book along side of the audio was such a acool experience. The story was very unique and imersive as I think it is intended. It had so many twists and turns ill admit I was a little lost at some parts. Overall though, loved it and really think JP Delaney is a great author.
