A huge amount of 'suspension of disbelief' needed but I throughly enjoyed. Very unique in premise and style of narrative.
BELIEVE ME by JP Delaney
I finished this on Friday, a super quick read and exactly what I expected. A well formed and really gripping thriller. I enjoyed the previous book The Girl Before too.
I don’t think I’ll ever be a die hard thriller fan, but as a stop gap between other books they work really well for me.

A second by Delaney and once again it’s amazing. When Delaney writes a psychological thriller, he really focuses on the term “psychological.” I have to say I enjoy psychological thrillers a lot more than regular thrillers.
This novel was fast paced, mind twisting, and a perfect psychological suspense novel. The way that Claire is written is so incredible. It was hard to figure out whether she was acting at times or if she was being the real Claire. But by the end of the novel I guarantee that you won’t figure out who the real Claire is. She’s one talented actress. It’s hard to get inside someone’s head so deeply and it’s such a wonder how Delaney does it. The psychological aspect was evident in this novel for sure. It’s hard not to miss.
You don’t know who you can trust in this novel. The police? The therapist? Patrick? Or Claire? Down to the last minor character, nothing is what it seems. It’s almost as if I was reading a play where Claire was the actress with many different roles. It’s hard to distinguish reality from acting. Some people are just that good and that’s what makes this novel so great. It’s so twisted that you really don’t know what hit you until that last page.
If you enjoy twisty psychological thrillers that play with your head then this is the one for you.
So glad to have read another novel by the talented Delaney and I’m waiting on his next one.

Hmmm in the end I enjoyed this. It started quite slow and I never warmed to any character, in fact I really disliked Claire throughout but I was compelled to continue and was intrigued to find out what happened. A little far fetched but all in all a good read.
I’m really not sure how I feel about this book, I definitely read it very quickly and found it hard to put done... the story definitely takes a turn. I didn’t really connect with the main character but wanted to know what happened
The end I definitely didn’t see coming
The end I definitely didn’t see coming
*** I received an advanced e-copy from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review
I have mixed emotions about this book. On one hand, the storyline was incredibile and you felt immersed in the story. On the other hand, parts of it were written like a script, which I didnt really enjoy. There were so many twists and turns my head is still spinning. If you like dark and twisty thrillers, then this is the book for you.
