Brody Wilder is seen as the moody 'bad boy' in Rush Creek. He's a tattooed drop out, who doesn't seem to have his life together.
Rachel Perez is Brody’s best friends' sister. She has always had a 'perfect' plan for her life. And someone like Brody doesn't figure on it, despite her long-held crush on Brody. But then, circumstances conspire to throw them together and neither can deny their attraction.
I confess, in Make Me Wilder, Brody wasn't really on my radar, as I'm not really a big fan of the whole 'bad boy' shtick. But wow! This was definitely my favourite so far (and I accidentallyread the third book before this one). I love a lead male character with vulnerability. And Brody Wilder is heartbreakingly vulnerable. Where others see irresponsibility and trouble, Rachel sees the real Brody. A man wracked with insecurities and low self-belief, formed when his father died. But also an adorable, funny and loving man, who just wants to be wanted. There's also a heartbreaking secret that he's been keeping to himself for too long.
I loved Rachel. Even though she's portrayed as the 'good girl', she was much more layered as a character and her own vulnerable moments were ones I definitely related to.
I cried a LOT reading this one. I really loved Rachel's calm, assured influence on Brody, and appreciated her single-mindedness once she realised what she wanted. The chemistry between them really sizzled, and the scenes on the boat were hilarious. Definitely a new favourite.

Brody Wilder is a bad boy with a heart of gold. Rachel Perez is a good girl with a plan.
This was a super cute read. The perfect amount of spice with a touching story. Brody, who is often misunderstood and seen as the screw up, is trying to help the family business, Wilder Adventures, and he does that with the help of Rachel, who is helping her mom run her business. After a slight (although hilarious) miscommunication, Rachel and Brody reconnect as friends, to something more.
The only problem, Rachel is only home for a few weeks from Boston. As they reconnect (Rachel is Connor’s little sister and Brody’s best friend), they take their relationship day by day and not addressing their feelings and the expiration date. This all comes to a head when Connor finds out and queue the tears. I wasn’t expecting to feel so emotional during the conflict. I loved the interactions we got with Gabe, Lucy, Amanda, and Hanna.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and I’m super excited to read more from Serena and to see what the rest of the Wilder brothers get into.

Read this because I enjoyed the first one in this series. I had a few issues with this but overall it was a cute read. I'm glad for the way the characters came together at the end. I may continue with the series.
Rachel's entire world has just imploded - she loses her job, her fiance, and her apartment all in one day - so she heads back to her hometown for a while to help out her mom with her consulting business. Her smalltown where her very hot, bad boy childhood crush - who happens to be her big brother's best friend - lives. Cue ALL THE CHEMISTRY.
This is a deliciously steamy best friend's sibling/sibling's best friend slow burn. The chemistry between Rachel and Brody is already off the charts, then throw in a little forced proximity and some sex toys and - whew! Yes please! I love when a romance is between two people who fit together like puzzle pieces, filling in each others' gaps and helping pull them into better, more well-rounded people. Rachel is a super-planner "perfect girl," and Brody is a bad boy without a plan, and they both challenge each other to stretch themselves to some uncomfortable places and live outside their boxes.
I love this wonderful cast of characters. There are a lot of folks to keep track of, and a few times I felt a bit lost. Perhaps if I'd read the first book in the series I'd have a better handle on who each of the Wilder siblings is, but there's enough info given in this book to really get a full understanding of Brody, who is the brother this book focuses on. And they're all so fun! I'd love to go to a book club on Brody's boat, or grab drinks with the fam.
This is the second book in the Wilder Adventures series and can be read as a stand alone. There are some spoilers for the first book in the series, Make Me Wilder, and the couple from that bok are side characters in this one (which makes sense, since the series is about the five Wilder brothers who run a company together!) Still, this second book can be read without having read the previous book. In this story the seeds for book three, Wilder With You, are planted and I cannot wait for!
A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for review. All opinions are unbiased and my own.

I enjoyed these characters quite a bit. I love the grew up together and always pined from a distance trope. I did not get why he was such a “bad boy” persona. Which I guess in reality he wasn’t, but I didn’t like that he kept getting described as having tattoos and driving a motorcycle as if that equates to being a “bad boy”. I get that he had a history and past, but he wasn’t that ‘bad’.
Fun storyline, I feel like the friendships could have been developed more. The relationship enhancement business and sex positive aspect was fun!

🌶 | small town romance; brother’s best friend trope
a little mediocre at the beginning [fmc gets dumped by her fiancé, then moves back to the small town where she grew up in]
gets really exciting in the middle [she sells “toys” on his boat !!]
HMM… same with the other books, nothing really special but enjoyed it nonetheless
