Read this because I enjoyed the first one in this series. I had a few issues with this but overall it was a cute read. I'm glad for the way the characters came together at the end. I may continue with the series.
mf - contemporary romance - small town - bad boy/good girl - brother’s best friend - Cuban-American heroine - 5 stars. The premise is just so funny. The FMC offers to help her mom’s side hustle, not realizing it’s sex toy parties. The MMC hosts them on his boat, also not knowing. They are attracted to each other and he had to sit there and listen while she talks about flashlights and benwa balls.

Rachel’s life is spiraling fast. She loses her job without warning then gets home early to find her long term boyfriend banging his sidepiece in their bed and he’s not even sorry. She thought he was going to pop the question but the only question he has for her is why can’t she forget about his little mistake and move on? Rachel heads to her hometown for a pick-me-up visit and sticks around to help for a while after her mom breaks a bone.
Brody’s struggling for more business for his charter boat so Rachel suggests a mutually beneficial partnership where she uses his boat to host her mom’s beauty product parties. They’re fighting their attraction to one another already, only to discover it’s a sex toy business, not make up and lotions as they thought. Brody knows his best friend’s little sister should be off limits and the notorious bad boy has baby mama complications, among other issues, but his baggage isn’t a dealbreaker. Their story is a sweet and funny HEA.
Welcome to the second book in the Wilder brothers series. These are companion novels, so you don't need to have read the previous novel, but seriously, why wouldn't you Lucy and Gabe's story was so wonderful!
In Walk on the Wilder side we are following Wilder "bad boy" Brody. Brody is the one everyone in his family sees as the screwup. He is trying to prove them wrong by making the boating portion of Wilder Adventures, more profitable. When a book club meeting goes wrong on the boat Brody is looking for help to get good reviews for his boating adventures.
In comes Rachel. Rachel was living her life and it was all going according to plan. She had the job, the boyfriend who she thought was going to soon be her fiancé, until she walked in on him cheater on her, in their bed. She went home to Rush Creek to help her mom out and lick her wounds. Her mom has an injured ankle, so she agrees to help by hosting some parties for sex toys. Hosting them on Brody's boat. Yes the Brody she has had a crush on since she was a kid, the Brody who is her older brother's best friend.
This was a steamy, funny book about a bad boy and good girl librarian. Brody and Rachel's relationship starts out simple enough, but ends in pure simple steam. Brody also teaches Rachel that not everything needs to be planned out for it to be fun, while Rachel helps Brody realize that some planning can be good too.
The books is fast paced and well written. It was easy to get into and I couldn't put it down. Serena Bell writes such compelling characters that I get so invested in their lives. I laugh when they laugh, and cry when they cry. I love how she writes both Brody and Rachel's family and just how real the characters feel.
Of course, as with any romance, the real world comes crashing down and both Brody and Rachel make some mistakes. Yes, they sometimes don't communicate as well as they should, but in the end both of them own up to it and take chances to lead to their happily ever after. The Wilder brothers are for me, and Serena Bell's writing is fast paced, compelling and enjoyable. I can't wait to see what else she writes!
I received a copy of this book from the author for and open and honest review. All opinions are 100% mine.

3.5/5 stars
"perfect" , always has a plan girl meets broody bad boy who also happens to be her brothers best friend?
mutual secret crushes from when they were little?
forced to work together hosting *self care* parties?
small town romance?
YES PLEASE!
Rachel and Brody are wrangled expertly by their families into working together to host self care parties on Brody's boat, they just didn't realize what kind of self care they were going to be talking about! Personally, I loved these parts of the book, not only were Brody and Rachel cranking up the heat with there across the rooms stares, but the openness that was described and how all of the women at the parties interacted was so much fun.
The banter between Brody and Rachel themselves was cute, though I was constantly nervous they would run into Conner!
The Brody/Zoe/Justin storyline felt a little bit rushed to me, but I have yet to have a chance to read the first in the series so I am not sure if that is a running plot line throughout the other books as well?
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was cute, sweet, funny, low angst, a little spicy and a lot of fun!!
