[I received an electronic review copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.]

3.5 stars = Good+

I enjoyed spending time with my favorite characters from this delightful series! The mystery here is meaty and really pushes Rosalind. I felt like there was so much going on here that if I had been reading it in snippets rather than in two sittings, it would have been easy to lose the threads of the story. There is a LOT going on here.

This book was Rosalind's chance to see if she and Devon could reclaim the relationship they once had. This is a match I have never loved, so I was not as attached to that part of the story as I was to the twisty mystery. The epilogue is a great teaser for what might be coming next for Rosalind, and I am here for it.

I really loved this addition to the series! Seeing characters actually grow over the course of a mystery series is a pleasure.
I honestly love how Wilde handled the resolution of the love triangle because she didn't drag it out to another book. I think this was the only choice to allow Rosalind to actually MOVE FORWARD in her own life, not staying trapped between two men.

I thoroughly enjoy these books and flew through the series in just over a week (shoutout to my library and Libby for having these available). I enjoy the characters, the banter, and the flow of the books. Though the slow-burn pacing with regards to her relationship decisions can sometimes drive me absolutely mad, it is an ache that I (clearly) enjoy.

I patiently await the fifth book.

Another great story in this excellent series: it's engrossing and highly entertaining.
I was happy to catch up with the characters, loved the well crafted and solid mystery that kept me guessing.
The historical background is well researched and vivid.
Can't wait to read the next installment, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Rosalind Thorne has been invited to a house party at Cassell House by Devon Winterbourne, Lord Casselmaine, officially to help his cousin Louisa Winterbourne plan her wedding, unofficially to see if Devon and Rosalind can rekindle their romance. But she receives a letter from Helen Corbyn, neighbour of the Duke, needing her help to find out who did kill her eldest brother, Colonel William Corbyn.
An enjoyable cozy historical mystery, though I suspect it would be helpful to have read the previous books in the series to get some of the background of the characters.
An ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
