Yet another novel I would love to see be turned into a tv show. Oh man this was short and sweet and left me feeling gooey at the end. This novel is everything a YA romance should be. It’s the sort of YA romance I wish I had had when I was in middle school and high school. Yet another story where the wlw relationship is accepted and normal.
Not to mention this book had some of my favorite tropes: jock and the cheerleader; fake dating; enemies to lovers.
I think what I loved most about this book was how honest it was about teenage relationships and how those heartbreaks can be all encompassing. Sometimes teenage heartbreak is written off as silly but this story really have it the gravity that it tends to have especially for a queer girl who is left by her first love. But while it focuses on the gravity of this it also points out the importance of self love and that’s also so important especially in a YA romance.
The characters are sweet and fun and all that I really could have asked for was more. More scenes between them, more kisses, more, more, more because I didn’t want to let them go so soon.
There’s so much that could go into the development of this story if it were able to live on the screen but I’m at least happy it’s out there on the page. This was a very sweet addition to my summer of romance readathon.

This was a DCOM and I'm not mad about it. If I was 15 I would of loved it....but I'm in my thirties so I need a bit more in a book now lol. There were issues with it but overall....it was charming.

This was unexpectedly touching, poignant, inspiring, and just enjoyable to read. I loved both Scottie and Irene. I couldn't help but think this would make an incredible movie, in the likes of "Love, Simon."
I'm definitely going to be checking out more books by [a:Kelly Quindlen|7768490|Kelly Quindlen|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1565023590p2/7768490.jpg].

It's a really cute and great sapphic YA romance. It starts off a little slow but picks up about a quarter to a third of the way through. There's a ton of emotion here, and I love the characters and plot. The dialogue and description can be a bit basic at times, but I love the story.

I was absolutely obsessed with this book. After a reading slump, I was able to devour this book within 2 days. I love the tropes in this book, including enemies to lovers and fake dating, and the relationship dynamic between Irene and Scottie. I deeply appreciate the discussions of grief and how to deal with grief, especially after the breakup of your first love. I wish I read this book after I broke up with my ex many moons ago just to tell my younger self: it is okay to grieve and take your time in finding yourself again and being true to yourself.

This enemies-to-lovers, fake dating sapphic romance is such a cute, down to earth, finish in one go read. All of the characters are dynamic and well-rounded, having personalities and flaws that make them real and relatable. The subject of getting out of a toxic relationship was handled so well, and the romance that blossomed out of fake dating felt natural and well progressed instead of rushed. Even the characters you’re supposed to hate have moments of genuine raw emotion.
This is such a cute, heartwarming, and funny story that I will read over and over again. Listened to it in audiobook format and can’t wait to buy my own copy!

She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen ⭐️⭐️.5/5
- Scottie starts out her basketball season in the worst possible way. Not only did her team lose to their rivals, she loses to her ex-girlfriend who switched schools. On top of that, after the game she ends up in a fender bender with her nemesis on the cheer team, Irene. This is the second time Irene has messed with her car after towing her car at a party last year. After both their Moms get involved they are forced to car pool while their cars get fixed. Scottie loathes every car ride when dealing with the mean and stuck-up Irene Abraham captain of the cheer squad. After over hearing a predicament Irene is in, unlike herself, Scottie convinces Irene to join her in a fake dating scheme. Can Scottie make her ex-jealous and boost her team’s morale with Irene’s popularity in a slam dunk? Or is this scheme a brick shot to the heart?
- I listened to this book via audiobook for my book club. We were assigned random genres and I got YA romance. I ultimately have decided I need to stop reading YA romance because if isn’t fantasy a lot of the problems that come up are very unrelateable to me as an adult. I did think the supporting characters in this story were cute and the ending was very Easy A. I found the characters a little unbearable and selfish on both sides so it was hard for me to see either of them as genuine and authentic. This is the second time I have read a LGBTQIA+ story with fake dating that included money which I just find so weird and I do not like that trope ultimately. I think coming out stories are vital but when they are overshadowed by financial gain I just find it weird that someone would choose to write it that way. Especially from personal experience and I don’t really think this book was good at fostering positive experiences for coming out, which I think is more important to show in stories than the negative. Overall cute but problematic story!
