TLDR: 2.5 stars, just skip to the last 200 pages for anything interesting! Alternatively save yourself the headache and just don't start this series.

Please for the love of all that is holy, can they stick to a normal number of POVs!!! The amount of unnecessary points of views given in this book was ridiculous, no one needed to read about Justin's or Milton's point of view, and any information provided in these POVs could've easily been added into one of the MCs POV (make it an atlas text or one of the stupid articles). It is so distracting trying to remember who all of these tiny characters are, let alone reading about their insignificant lives, aka Milton and his Cows (especially in the last 100 pages of the book!). Readers shouldn't have to google characters to remember who they are, and if thats the case, that character should not have a point of view!! Just let us read about what we are here for, the twins, the heirs and the war!

I must admit this series has become a thing I hate read as I really depise leaving a series unfinished. The world building and the ideas behind the books are great, but the constant need to add point of views from every single character makes the story hard to read. Personally I find Geraldine's point of view especially difficult to get through (which is frustrating because if she just spoke normally and had the odd silly phrase she would be likeable and funny).

Also there were so many unnecessary sex scenes - Seriously who wants to read a sex scene from Geraldine's POV, I sat there for 2 mins in disbelief trying to decipher this sentence:
"I rocked my hips faster and his biceps bulged like two fine blowfish, his head tipping forward to watch as he thrust up beneath me and showed my petunia the full extent of his daring Daniel."
Like what the fuck does any of that even mean?!

The heirs and their parents need to get over themselves, they were all saved by Tory and Geraldine and they still refused to acknowledge that Tory/Darcy were fit to lead for 90% of the book. Like cmon guys, get with it.

Tory seriously needs to get over her whole "woe is me" act and realise that she is surrounded by people that care (where is the character development??)

Darcy is one of my favourite characters and it felt like we hardly even saw her in this mammoth of a book.

And now I've come to the end of this book all I can think is why? Why did it take 1200 odd pages for everything of real importance to take place in the last 200 pages? Yet again, nothing has been resolved, more evil has been released into the world and everyone is doomed again. It wouldn't hurt the authors to resolve one problem, aka Lionel - he could be dead and the rest of the plot could still work, but no basically all Lionel got was slapped around and covered in sewage. Like come on give us what we are asking for! The final 200 odd pages are truly the only ones worth reading, and I'm pretty sure you could piece together the entire story line by reading these alone.

It just feels like the authors are trying to reach an essay word count with the countless POVs, the news article comments (seriously we didn't need these and all those hashtags) and the constant adding to the story line (oh another Curse, oh another riddle, ooh a magic ballerina music box, oh and while we're at it add another villian).

As much as I hate not finishing a series, I truly do not have it in me to read another one of these books, and the way it's going there will be 12 (1 for each zodiac) and it will be dragged out for as long as possible.
