I could just tell this wasn’t going to do it for me. I don’t like a historical setting and I just wasn’t interested, even with the intrigue introduced in chapters 1 and 2.

i’m unfortunately very negative on here but it kinda blows my mind that this and captive prince were written by the same person. i don’t remember the writing style being this repetitive before?

the big twist also fell extremely flat when i guessed it 100 pages in lol rip. a book that feels the need to explicitly explain everything a million times over is Not the book to pull something like that off but hey! i’m probably going to read the second one anyway because i already bought it so who gaf
