It was really interesting to learn about Alex and Eddie's early years of immigrating to the US from the Netherlands and their start in America and the sacrifices that their parents made. The memoir stopped right after the 1984 years. I would have liked a bit of a deeper dive on their relationship and the early years of the band, but considering how hammered Alex was for much of it, I guess he did the best he could. It was good, but not outstanding (unlike Cher or Barbra Streisand's memoirs).

Read by Alex Van Halen.

It's a short book, starting when VH family came to America from Holland and ending when David Lee Roth leaves the band. No real big bombshells. Basically, Alex processing his grief.
