It took me a while to get into this one and I still can’t get behind open door spice with a 17yo FMC but I trust the twisted sisters so onward we go to book 2
Graphic: Bullying, Child abuse, Sexual content
Minor: Alcohol
This review is for the series as a whole, although I’d likely rate each book as a 3. They were neither exceptional nor awful and I didn’t want to read them except that I was curious about Tatums story since reading Sinners Playgroud (which btw is by far the best series by these gals right besides Zodiac Academy)
The plot gets thicc, much more interesting than the stalker dilemma. Towards the last book I got a bit frustrated with all the sex interludes. When the plot is picking up, the sex becomes an unwanted intrusion for me and I certainly don’t enjoy every conversation being injected with sexual puns and innuendos. The word “punishment” or punish was used 300+ times and became grossly overplayed especially since 90% of the “punishments” were just cunnilingus.
There was also more of a heavy focus on angst which isn’t my thing in large doses and oh boy did this series overdose on it so if that’s your thing then this is for you.
Kyan was the best character in the first book, but he quickly became the most annoying imho. Every since he got a taste of his own medicine and turned into a whiney bitch.
Blake is a sweetheart, Saint is by far my fave and Nash is Nash.

Bully trope is wild in this one. Truly makes you hate the Night Keepers, though Tatum is a bit of a brat that just makes it worse for herself in the vain of proving she can't be broken.

What can I say? It was a terrible book that was way too long 🤷🏽♀️ I don’t know why people like these authors.
