I LOVED this book. Being a Michigan and a Veronica Mars girl - this truly spoke to me. Emily Henry is great at building up anticipation and delivering on romance!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. It was my first Emily Henry novel and I’ll definitely read more of her work. January and Gus’s story was so beautiful. Both of them working through their grief together and separately was a beautiful thing to witness through the pages.

SPOILER ALERT!!! The beginning of the book was slow and I think it took me a couple of chapters to really get into it. I wasn't feeling the storyline of her father being a cheater although it is a real topic, I don't know, it just didn't land for me in the beginning and I dealt with it for the rest of the book. It wasn't no People We Meet on Vacation but it was an alright Emily Henry book and I ate it up towards the end lol.

I don't normally like second chance romances because you're thrown into this relationship like it should all just be known. This was different though because there was no past relationship, just an unrequited crush many years ago. And while both parties have moved on and lived their lives, when Gus saw January again all his unrealistic feelings bubbled up and I just love a man who pines!

This was spicier than I was prepared for.

This is a typical Rom-com. The author's approach made the book lighthearted and fun.

I think the book is well written. It is an interesting premise and the characters were endearing. I think my only qualm with this book is that it felt like January kept repeating the same thing when Gus pushed her away.
