“Tear down this house. A hundred thousand new houses can be built from the transparent yellow carnelian buried beneath it,
and the only way to get to that is to do the work of demolishing and then digging under the foundations.
With that value in hand all new construction will be done without effort
And anyway, sooner or later this house will fall on its own.”

im ngl i got halfway and then gave up but im logging it anyway. i think im just really not a poetry person, or i haven't found a poet that resonates with me yet who knows....but either way this was ok.
I would like to continue this one someday, but had to put it down (it was in my doctor's waiting room.)
This is a book to keep nearby, a book to return to at each new bend in the river.
Timeless morals, advice, and wisdom in to the Divine set to poetry. The only reason for 4 stars is for some if it losing me and a bit misogynistic but dude, it’s from the 13th Century. I would still read it again and again and recommend it for anyone looking deeper in to who they truly are, why they’re here, and why anything in the universe seems to be the way it is. I marked something I loved on just about every other page.
After reading "Th Forty Rules of Love" by Elif Shafak, I decided to go back to the beginning and start this book over. And I'm glad I did. The historical and social background helped me understand and appreciate this collection a lot more. So, I'd recommend reading a little bit about Rumi before you dive into this one.
