Really enjoyed this book. It was fun, I liked the magic system and the fact that Selene’s magic consumed her memories and how that story unfolded. I love a good betrayal. The spice was fun and creative without being repetitive, and I like that the world building ties into her Bargainer series. I immediately read the second book after this.

I read this after reading the prequel (which I LOVED), and this definitely felt like a let down after how much depth the characters developed in the prequel. I am hoping there is more character development in the next book. I’ll definitely continue the series because of how much I loved their origin story, and I just hope the rest of the series will live up to that.
