Me watching Coriolanus Snow make literally any choice in this book: He is such an evil little rat man.
Me when Coriolanus makes some out of pocket, snarky, internal remark: You know what, he is actually kind of funny… is this a redeeming quality?

I loved the bad guy origin story. You almost want to root for Snow, but as the story goes on, he reveals himself to be the villain you know he is. It happens slowly at first, but it sure picks up. The last part of the book dragged a bit, but overall a must read if you like the series.

I loved this book! It gave an insight of the brain of Coriolanus Snow, and answered some questions from the triology(though it left even more unanswered: What happened to Lucy???). I think the charm of the book for me was definitely the plot as well as the character descriptions. I love how Suzanne Collins gives the reader details about the surrounding society, details that aren't directly related to the plot, to fully paint a picture of the dystopian world.

“Snow lands on top.”

It’s actually unbelievable how much of a piece of shit he is, wow!
This is a master class in writing the origin story of your villain. He actively chose to be the worst person ever, no matter how much love and empathy surrounded him, he wanted power more.
Every single time you kind of start to feel bad for Snow he does or thinks something so heinous and vile you immediately want him to rot in hell again (which he does ☺️)
You also get the absolute satisfaction of knowing how it will end for him: The first time he sees a Mockingjay he absolutely despises it and plans to kill all of them. He forbids all musical performances in District 12 so Lucy Gray dies with him.
But you know Katniss Everdeen will become the Mockingjay and her rebellion-fueling act is singing Lucy’s song for Rue in the arena. Oh karma has never been that sweet.

Thank you Suzanne please write more books

I thought the second half of the book dragged quite a bit, but it was really cool to make all the connections to the hunger games trilogy
