This book is a wonderful primer on how to approach environmentalism in an intersectional manner, and how to reframe the conversations around different areas of environmentalism (renewable energy, good access, activism, and more). It brings in the wisdom and thoughts of many different BIPOC environmental activists and uplifts their work, demonstrating how to move away from the white-dominated environmentalism in America and the need to uplift, learn about, and center BIPOC perspectives, experiences, and extensive history. A must read!

This book is pretty surface level, but it is a solid introduction to a complex and critical topic. It offers examples/questions to reflect upon and is a good starting point if you’re in the beginning stages of educating yourself.

really good introduction to the concept of intersectionality and why it matters in environmentalism. colonialism, racism, sexism, etc play big roles in our inability to act when it comes to the environment.

Good Introduction to the terms and issues describing environmental injustice and how that intersects with racial, gender, and other forms of oppression and harm. It gave me new ideas to think about and new questions to ask when working to find equitable solutions to environmental degradation.
The hardcover book itself was difficult to physically read due to the small size and low contrast of the font.

really loved the argument at the opening of the book, but I wish the text would have sustained it. The last few chapters didn't feel as unique.
