I’ve been making a bigger effort over the past few years to be more eco-conscious with my life and understand environmentalism more in-depth. So, this book was obviously one I had to pick up.
Overall, this book is an accessible, educational and honest look at environmentalism and the diverse voices that have made and continue to make a difference in this space. The content is a healthy combination of historical events, current challenges/efforts, and an introduction to terminology and key topics surrounding environmentalism. This is a great introduction to the topics and empowers people to learn more about the topics discussed in the book.
This book did have a bit of an abrupt end in my opinion. But I do appreciate the solid list of resources that were included at the end — I’m definitely going to be looking into those.

So, so good. One of the best books I’ve read on environmental Justice…and by far the most comprehensive of interlinked (intersectional!!) issues.
Short book, tiny print, heavy info, but absolutely critical to read.
Excellent book! Learned a lot reading this book for a class, which discusses relevant topics to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Great book that opened my eyes to so many different topics and seeing the interconnectedness of all the different kinds of justice that needs to be done.
This is an excellent primer on intersectional environmentalism, and intersectionality in general. Even if you know the topic well, this is worth a read if only to further ground yourself in the basics.
This book is physically and spiritually beautiful--great layout, well-organized, smart and clearly written. While I knew it was a textbook, I guess I didn't really *know* it was a textbook because of how cute it is. So, I think it's a good primer on intersectional environmentalism and I could see it being used in an intro to environmental studies class or even a gender and women studies class. Certainly geared toward people new to thinking about intersectionality and the overlap between social and environmental justice.
An excellent read for anyone who wants to learn more about helping our planet and fellow humans
hopeful
informative
reflective
fast-paced
A good jumping off point for understanding intersectional activism and how it relates to environmentalism, but it often left me wanting a lot more.
I appreciate this book being a short and informative primer, but i think it should have been longer to have the space to meaningfully explore these issues.
Great primer, but could have been so much more.
