Verwachtingen overtroffen, een zeer meeslepend boek.
Even though this book took me forever to read! (from June until now) I thought it was an enjoyable read. Sure the language gets a bit confusing at times, but I think I got the hang of it, especially during the last ten chapters. The only thing that really bothered me was the character of Milady. I know she was supposed to be the villain, but still, she really annoyed me at times.

One of the best books I've read. Characters range from interesting and loveable if flawed to completely decitful and evil. The book can also be very funny at times as I found myself audibly laughing throughout (Primarily in book one). A very well-paced book as it does not unnecessarily dwindle on needless aspects.
Big disappointment in comparison with the Count of Monte Cristo. I liked the characters, but I don’t care much for the storyline, seemed a bit convoluted and got boring in parts. Glad I read it, but not my favorite by far.
I was absolutely not expecting to come out of this novel with a new classic to add to my list of favourites, but I was pleasantly surprised! This book was SO much fun. It took a minute to get going, as all classics do, but after that, it took off running. The main cast was so much fun; D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers made for the most chaotic group that was so fun to follow. There were twists in this book that I didn't expect, connections between characters I didn't see coming, and there was love, death, action, everything! The villain was also fantastic, a really great bad guy. I'm so looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series that is much longer than expected, but I'm glad for that! Definitely read this book if you haven't already, it's AWESOME.
Turned into a whole romance spiel which I don't gaf about halfway through. Where's these guys' adventurous spirit? Hell, D'Artagnan abandoned the rest of the gang on their first quest together. Not very 'all for one, one for all' of him.
