Incredibly disturbing. Even more so when you think about the fact that people like the main character really do exist.

I think the first 1/3 of this REALLY had my interest. It's disturbing and crass, but I love the narration we get here. Celeste is focused and bold and it's kind of fascinating to hear her internal monologue. I will say at just before the halfway point things begin to get a little repetitive and obvious -- the plot of the book becomes kind of exactly what you'd expect until the very end. Because the first part balances its tone so well and had me so captivated with the ick, I'd def recommend if you are willing to trudge past these content warnings because the ending is in my opinion worth it even if it stalls a bit during the middle.

this book made me super uncomfortable, but it was well-written and extremely committed to its bold, explicit character study of a twisted woman. in its second half, the plot became a lot crazier than i initially expected. overall, it was an increasingly fast-paced, very disturbing story, and i have to give the author points for sheer boldness in writing on a topic like this.
