Hmm. Main characters were never really developed, side characters were NOY developed (and therefore I could not keep track of who was who), plot was all over the place and hard to follow (the random time travel in the middle of the book?? and the orgasm freezing powers?? ), and the writing was just bad. Can’t say I’ll be reading any of the rest of the books in the series…

This was funny, faced paced, romantic and the perfect level of nonsensical. I read this super fast, it was just one of those books that you fly through without even realising you're reading. I'm loving the abundance of witchy rom-coms that have been coming out recently and this is probably one of my favourites. To me, it read like a combination of the best parts of the ex hex and the very secret society of irregular witches.
All the witches of Bedlam house were so fun and they all added something different to the story. The house itself was like something out of a Ghibli film, with ever changing rooms and talking animals. The romance between Essie and Josh was adorable and I really enjoyed seeing them together. They both were really believable as people which I appreciated too. I really liked that this book actually had a plot - in a lot of cases the romance is the main plot and the other aspects of the story can get pushed to the side but that didn't happen here.

Was listening to the audiobook and it wasn’t gripping me, I think I’ll try the physical book instead!

What a great witchy read for autumn/spooky season!
I enjoyed the magical elements to this story and was quite engrossed with them and would totally believe them! I loved the forgetting spell 😂
I thought the cross over from past and present witches and time worked really well.
Was interesting to see how each witch had a speciality and I love how Essie learnt more about what her power/magic can really do.
I couldn’t put Essie and Josh together at first but they did work more as the book went on.
I really enjoyed the historical element surrounding the witches and how they were persecuted in the past.
This book I felt definitely focused more on the witch/magic side of things than the romance.
Good easy read for lovers of small town witchy romance.
