As I occasionally do, I read the second book in this series first. I didn’t realize it and thought it was the other away around. I enjoyed this novel more than the second book, but because I read them out of order it can be hard to judge those sorts of things. 

I enjoyed the male lead in this novel a lot more than the second book. There was so much plot in this novel it ended up being kind of anticlimactic when it was finally over. I really enjoyed the writing at the end about the research in regards to witches and witch hunting. Found that to be very interesting. 

I’m torn between giving this novel a 3 and 4 stars, because I don’t really see why it can’t be a four star book, even if it wasn’t my favorite. Yet I’m still finding myself rating it 3 stars.

Very fun, light witchy book. Writing was good and the adventure kept the plot moving quickly, more twists and turns than I expected and the magical elements were silly and entertaining.

Romance, adventure and witchery. Cute characters with a mix of emotions and thoughts explored. Very easy to read. Time travel adventure gripped me and overall enjoyable.

10/10, perfect autumnal read. 

I enjoyed this story so much. It was like a romcom with magic, very whimsical and so much fun. I found myself constantly saying ‘just one more chapter’ and ending up 100 pages further in than planned. 

There was a good amount of suspense and I liked the mystery element that was there throughout the book. The romance was so sweet, too. 

I just love the way Kate writes her FMCs. Witty, strong, not afraid to take exactly what they want. I just can’t get enough! Super excited to continue with the series and carry on making my way through this author’s works.
