First of all I want to thank the publisher for sending me this advanced copy to review. This was an incredible thriller and I am VERY picky with my thrillers. The writing almost felt seductive and whenever I picked it up I had a hard time putting it back down. It was expertly crafted with excellent pacing and the alternating perspectives worked perfectly. Highly recommend!

I hated all the characters but saw myself in so many of their flaws. I also don't usually go for a book with so many unlikeable characters but they were each so real and raw. It really did keep me wondering while also answering questions the entire time. Also, the chapters are very short and laid out extremely intentionally so that it felt like I needed to read a physical copy rather than listen to the audiobook in order to truly take in what's the author intended (and that's makes me wonder hoes they translated that to the audiobook).

This was good, I listened to the audiobook and I liked it! I felt like the story wasn’t very twisty or thrilling, it was predictable. I think some aspects of the story needed to be more established in the beginning, I don’t think we needed Serena’s perspective and definitely not the other perspective than hers and Katie and Helen. I think more could’ve been done with this but I enjoyed the short chapters and it kept me reading.

It’s a good story but just dragged on too long.

I love a good domestic thriller, but this was not it. The characters were unlikeable. Especially Helen — her reactions to strange events were unhinged.

The pace was so slow, yet cut out of a lot of scenes just as things were interesting. She foreshadowed the twist so clearly I almost thought we were supposed to know the result from the start. It made reading this overly long book a complete slog.

Wow. What an INCREDIBLE novel. The twists and turns throughout the whole story leave you wondering whether you caught all the right details prior. The slow burn really adds to the thrill of it all. Completely captivates you and leaves you wanting more once the story is over. The imagery of it all makes you feel as though you are right there along with the characters. This is a definite must read.
