Had to DNF this book. The story was so incredibly DRY to the point that it was boring. The characters felt so unoriginal, everyone felt two dimensional and Helen came across so whiny. I honestly would have given this book 1 star, but the cover is honestly beautiful. The second star goes to the cover artist.

I’m not a thriller reader and while this book wasn’t too scary, more suspenseful it just wasn’t for me.
Helen lives in her old childhood home in Greenwich Park with her husband. She’s pregnant and ends up alone at her prenatal class, but meets Rachel. Rachel is a single mom and doesn’t follow any of the typical pregnancy rules. Helens lonely and Rachel seems to just force her way into Helen’s life.
This book was sooo slow for me. It set up for a lot of suspense but halfway in and I was like nothing has happened yet. The writing was very good though! I’m not sure what to expect since this was my first real thriller I’ve read, but I just wasn’t amazed. The perspectives on the book changed frequently and I was just ready for a consistent story. I also was not a fan of the characters. They were all obnoxious.
TW: assault, rape, child loss, pregnancy

Really intense book. It had me guessing the whole way through and there were so many different plot twists and sync ups throughout. I was highly anticipating this book and it did not disappoint.
I would give this a 3.5 if i could; Greenwich Park is interesting in its narration, the "facts" of the plot changing with the sometimes biased and sometimes unreliable viewpoints of each character. The characters and their histories are intriguing and mysterious, and the small bits of memories peeking through the main timeline made me curious to keep reading. Helen's position to the events with the crimes taking place is very unique in terms of other crime stories, and it was interesting to read from the perspective of someone on the edge of an event yet unaware of so many key details.
I only somewhat agree with other criticism that the book is paced a bit slowly; there is quite a bit of exposition, but given the many layers to this plot and the several perspectives I can't think of anything significant that could have been cut out to "speed up" the plot in a big way. The pacing was fine in my opinion, and as the book progressed I could feel Helen's unease through the increasingly odd behavior of the people around her.

SHOOT wasn’t expecting that ending. Well… the last line at least. Some other big pieces were predictable and some extras to fit the rest together. It kept you questioning things but I wasn’t s big fan of how chapters would abruptly end and skip to future scenes with the same characters involved. A few times is neat. An overall creative story with some justice and a good portion of remaining secrets you wish could get out. But you can’t always have a clean ending and better to keep it interesting.
