Oh wow. This is going to be a hard one to review… I was literally drawn in from the first few pages. Hooked. Great opening. The story focuses around three female characters Mia, Laura and Janie who have all crossed paths. Not friends. Not enemies. But each aware of each other. Until they are forced together at the end. Who started the fire?
The story is set out perfectly where each character gets their own part throughout and within we learn alot about their characters, family and personal secrets and past. In between these chapters we have the interviewing of suspects over the fire which breaks it up perfectly. Brilliantly written. Clever plot. Unexpected outcome I would never have guessed. But just how do these women link together?
Towards the end the author has brought in a bit of love and sacrifice which I liked! But ends with a bit of DUN DUN DUN… Left for the reader to think what happens next. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend. Brilliant read.

I really enjoyed this book! Was gripping throughout and I really love the structure of it jumping from the present interview to the past and gradually lining up at the end. The ending wasn't expected at all but was also kind of like meh to me. Although the very last chapter really got to me emotionally! I would definitely recommend!
Laura is returning to work after maternity leave and is furious to find that Mia, who was brought in to cover her post, has now been kept on permanently and given Laura’s biggest client but it seems Mia might have had an ulterior motive for wanting Laura’s job. Janie is the wife of their boss, Harry, and is unhappily married and carrying some baggage from her past.
The book starts with a fire at the advertising agency which connects the three women and the story then jumps back in time to show us (from all three perspectives) the weeks leading up to the fire, leaving us to work out both who started it and who has been killed in it.
I thought the premise of this book was really good but unfortunately it didn’t blow me away as it was just too much of a slow burner. It started well but the middle section felt repetitive with not very much happening, and the ending, which I was hoping would redeem some of the earlier slowness, felt anticlimactic after such a big build up.
This book was marketed as a thriller but to me it was more of an office drama with some suspense. It was missing a lot of the edge of your seat stuff that I expect in a thriller. I was looking forward to this one and while I didn’t dislike it, I didn’t love it either. Suspect this book might be enjoyed more by someone who is just trying out the thriller genre. Ah well can’t win them all! Thanks to Netgalley for the ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’d wouldn’t really class this as a thriller, more like a gripping drama mystery.
Raging with jealousy, lies and determination this story is a page turner. I can honestly see this being a tv drama series in the future.
The characters are realistic and all interesting in there won ways, I felt very sorry for Nate in all of this lol drama!
It wasn’t as good as “Her one mistake” but still an enjoyable read
3.5 / 4 stars

Thank you to NetGalley UK and for providing me with an early review copy. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own and truthful.
I felt like this was very a very slow burn book and seemed to drag on a little bit. One of the things I think made this feel so long and drawn out were the 3 main female characters. Laura has just come back from having a baby and was struggling with trying to balance her job, her marriage and her relationship with her new-born son. However, her freak outs over Mia just seemed ridiculous and she started to really annoy me which made me not care that much for her. I didn’t have much to think about Janie and she was probably the one out of the main three who didn’t annoy me and whose perspective I could see and understand the most. Mia was sort of an in between – the constant hinting towards something else was really annoying instead of being mysterious and feel like it was perhaps overused before it was released.
This was told in two timelines – before the fire where we get the three women’s perspectives and then after the fire where we see transcripts of police interviews with all members of staff who worked at the office that burned down. I’m not really sure how much extra the interviews added. I feel a lot of them just confirmed what we’d already found or being told in the timeline before the fire.
Overall this was an ok read. I didn’t see the twist of who set the fire and why, but with how the story was ramping up beforehand, you already had an idea of who it could be and even the reason why didn’t have that much shock value. There wasn’t particularly anything wrong with this book but I just didn’t find it gripping or thrilling enough to keep me really hooked and wanting to read more and not want to put the book down.

Really enjoyed.
I read this book all in one go. I really loved how the plot unfolded and I couldn't put the book down. The three main female characters were all so interesting, each dealing with their own issues which just added to the mess. I really would recommend giving this a read.

I didn’t know what to expect with this book, I went in blind and I felt a lot of different emotions. I loved that when we had the reveal, it was slowly and teasingly slow it was not what I expected.
I did begin to connect the dots between the three women of Mia, Janey and Laura but not completely what drove them. When one reveal happened with one of the ladies, I had that ah-ha moment as I started to see how the jigsaw might be completed, but the ending was a heartbreaking one.
This is a book I found that will catch you out, it will lead you to believe that one character is seemingly losing the plot, and then flip it over to show a different perspective. You have one where you believe is all innocent and again there is something at work here. I LOVED THAT!! I lost my way with reading as my mojo has just left me but this book has sparked it back. I was hooked and I loved all the narrators leading us through our journey as we try to uncover the truth, the night of the fire.
I do love a book that can surprise you, despite thinking you know all the secrets and it’s no different here. I warmed to all the women, Laura probably more than the others, the mum returning to work, but in the end, all of them had an appeal to them. All were struggling with actions from their past, and unfortunately, the men in their lives had believed that shaped their future. Where I thought one character would be the focal point of the story, it was shocking to learn that it really wasn’t all about them, but if you read you will agree with me when I say, I bet they wished it was

Laura, Mia, and Janie are all connected through an advertising firm that is now burning to the ground. An enjoyable read, although the ending was a little anticlimactic to me and then felt the part after the reveal was a bit drawn out. The premise is that all 3 women haven secrets and are lying, but honestly I didn’t think there were really any huge secrets (did Laura have any at all?) or much lying until the very very end.
