I enjoyed the plot of this book as it was something I have never read about before. However, this book didn’t have me gripped enough even though I never dreaded picking it up. I liked the writing style, but the characters weren’t the most interesting I’ve ever read about. I liked how the plot twists were revealed however some were quite predictable and I guessed them about halfway through the novel- but this didn’t take away my enjoyment as I like to guess plot twists in thrillers

My Review:⭐️⭐⭐️/ 5 stars
Thank you to Gallery Books and @netgalley for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
This a mystery/thriller I could not wait to read - the cover is so eye-catching. It revolves around the devastating fire and destruction of advertising firm, Morris & Wood. Three women (Laura, Janie, and Mia) were at the scene after the fire and all considered possibly a suspect that left someone dead. Laura had just returned to work after a 6 month maternity leave to find Mia (her temporary fill in) trying to sabotage her and steal her job. Janie is the wife of Harry Wood (owner/head of Morris & Wood) who also had her own reasons. I really enjoyed the police interviews of the 3 characters and the co-workers, building up the mystery of how it all led up to the fateful night. It was killing me to find out who Mia was and what her true motives were after going after Laura’s job. However, I was not crazy about the ending, a bit lackluster for me...The grand reveal was what I already figured out early on. I almost felt that Janie’s character was not interesting, and I did not care about her one bit. I wanted to like this more, but found myself thinking it was so/so.

Once I got over the interviews every few chapters (which I hated) the book itself was good. It was slow to start and I didn’t find myself loving it at any point. The ending was surprising, had not seen it coming so the last few chapters were page turners. I would give it like 3.5-4 starts not quite 4 but just under haha

Three Perfect Liars will take you on a journey into the lives of three women. Laura - new mother, returning to work after 6 month maternity leave. Mia - Laura's "temporary" replacement while on maternity leave. Janie - wife of the company's owner, Harry. The story begins with the office building burning to the ground and flashes backward to the day of Laura's return from maternity leave. The story is also told through transcripts of the police interviews. Which one of these women could have started the fire?!?
I loved this story and how you're left in the dark throughout the majority of the book. It is very well written and keeps you turning pages. I thoroughly enjoyed how all the peoples perspectives were woven into the retelling by the police interviews and the complexities surrounding how everyone's lives were entwined.
I look forward to checking out more of Heidi Perks's books.
A special thank you to NetGalley, Gallery Books, and Heidi Perks for providing me with an ARC.
