This book had me sneaking around when i was busy just so i could read some more.

The character development is impressive and honestly so fucking good, it was just what the book needed. The relationship between the main characters feels very real and you could practically feel their pull for eachother.

There were some plot twists i was not expecting at all and i am so glad the author had the capacity of actually pulling them off without me having any suspicions about what was gonna happen it really made the book a lot more interesting and had my anxiety through the roof but it was all worth it.

The writing is very nice, i was very involved in the story and whenever something happened i could feel for the characters, so it managed to actually get to me, it definitely was not superficial.

Thr spice was really good, there could have been a little more variability so each scene felt more original but it was good whatsoever.

There was not a main plot to mold the book to, like a kind of "goal" which is achieved at the end of the book apart from the development of the romance but it was rather like tiny plot points were appearing along the way (which i have no problem with when the book actually follows through with a main problematic) and personally i feel like when plot is not stablished since the beginning the story ends up feeling rather messy.

But aside from that i enjoyed pretty much everything about the novel.

If being publicly humiliated by Drew at the end of the previous book wasn’t enough, Maybel has just been floored by another bombshell and The Wildflower sees her navigating the loss of her mother and the surprise addition of a new brother in Sebastian but on the plus side it looks like he’s going to be the overprotective variety and has every intention of protecting her from Drew who is determined to win her back whether she’s willing or not.

Bel is hit with a lot in this book but it’s the making of her.  She realises her own worth and is not so much of a doormat with Drew.  As a character Drew was a darker shade of morally grey, but underneath the dark and psychotic façade he presented to the world was a hint of vulnerability that will touch your heart.  He’s stuck between a rock and hard place, appeasing his brutal father while trying to uncover his plans and protect his mother and is obsessed with winning Bel back.  In an emotional and steamy story filled with twists and secrets he’s about to discover out his wallflower has bloomed and he’s going to have to earn her love.  I can’t wait to read more from the Oakmount Elite series.

This book is definitely dark bully vibes so please read triggers and take them seriously. I felt there were a few parts that could have been shortened a bit but it did not deter me. The plot gripped me and I had to know what was going to happen. I saw a few things I thought would transpire but some of those twists and turns came out of left field. This did not end on a cliffhanger however there are still things we need to know. Seb, who is Drew's best friend has a lot going on. I want inside that pretty little head of his. I have a feeling his book is going to be out of this world. I loved how Beck wrapped up Drew and Bel's story perfectly. Well, perfect for them. This was a wild ride and I was there for it. I love Beck's style of writing and how it it truly pulled at my heartstrings.

Quotes~
I often remind myself that grief is the price you pay for love.

The darkest parts of me clung to the lightest parts of you, and for the first time in forever I felt in control of at least one thing in my life.

The Wildflower by JL Beck is a wonderful story that brings closure to Drew and Maybel's turbulent relationship.
Admittedly, the pacing of the story may seem slow at times, requiring patience from the reader as the intricate layers of the story unfold. However, this deliberate pacing serves a purpose, allowing for the gradual development of both the characters and their relationship. Each moment of tension and hesitation only serves to heighten the emotional impact of the story, leading to a truly sensational climax that is well worth the wait.
I am looking forward to Sebastian's story!

Oh My God!!!! The Wildflower you had me on the damn edge of my seat the entire time!!!! You have to read The Wallflower before you start The Wildflower so you know exactly what happening. At the start of The Wildflower you have all sorts of questions. Who’s her brother? Is Bel ok? What about her mom? But by the end you are questioning a whole lot more, whose parents are who? Who’s this rando relative? Does Sebastian like Bel’s friend? And just like you would expect from J.L. Beck the spice in this book is scorching hot. Drew is just as crazy and unhinged as he was in The Wallflower, but Bel is not talking any of his BS this time around.  The absolute twists in this book had me shook! I did not see that ending coming at all, buts that’s the way I like it. Don’t forget to read the epilogue and bonus epilogue there is some excellent spice in there! I can’t wait to see what the next Oakmont Elite book has in store.

Drew & his Flower are amazing characters. She was emotionally light years ahead of him, but she was willing to walk with him through his pain. I loved all the secrets that came to light. She was building a family, one that could depend on one another. I loved it!

I wanna start by saying that this is NOT a standalone and The Wallflower must be read first. Now with that out of the way HOLY COW!!!!!! what a doozy of a read. I am still trying to figure out what to do now that I finished this and don't have the next book.

This picks up right where The Wallflower ended, it takes off from there and is full force until the end of the book. There is so much going on and so much to talk about but I really really don't want to give anything away and spoil it for other.

I really love Bel. She really went through it in the beginning but as the story goes on you see her becoming stronger and really becoming her own person.

Drew is a straight up jerk but I really really like him. He is definitely morally gray through and through but his heart really is in the right place when it comes to Bel.

This book has soooooo many twist and turns and will leave you so many more questions going into the next book in the series. Trust me though, its completely worth it!!

I could not put this book down!

J. L Beck had me totally engrossed in this book from the first page. J. L did a fantastic job weaving a plot that was filled with suspense, action, emotions and lots of steamy, hotness between Drew and Maybel. This book sent me on one wild ride and I loved every minute of it.
I enjoyed seeing both Drew and Maybel's characters develop and grow as individuals and together.  In spite of everything Maybel endured she found her strength and was more sassy and independent in this book.
I loved Drew even more in this book! Although he was still his crazy, possessive and sexy self, he made every effort to erase the hurt he had caused Maybel and be the man he knew she needed, someone that could protect her and someone she could trust. He was totally swoony and had my heart fluttering throughout with his all consuming love for his Wildflower.
Their chemistry and attraction surely intensified in this book and boy oh boy was it hotness overload.
I also fell in love with Sebastian, he was there for Bel when she needed someone to show her she was not alone. It was so sweet how protective and caring he was towards her. I can't wait to read his story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and J.L definitely left me wanting more from these characters!

This is the 2nd part of Drew and Maybel’s story. When we start out poor Bel is broken from the end of The Wallflower and not handling things well. Bel is now living with her brother who she never knew about. And Drew is dealing with the fallout and knowing he messed up and he will do anything to get Bel back. The last 20% of this book is a huge mess with your mind and leads into Sabastian’s book so there is no conclusion to parts of the story. I ate this book up waiting to see what will happen with the rest of the series. Even though it is a toxic AF relationship I still love Drew and Bel. That boy does some amaze grovel. The angst in the is book is top tier. Cant wait for the rest of the boys stories and there girls.

A few of my favorite quotes with out spoilers. "Are you insinuating that I have trust issues?" "Insinuating? You have so many issues a therapist would need another therapist just to dissect them all." "You can get wine at the drive-through near campus, and I hear it comes in a convenient box with a spout. Like an adult Capri Sun but with Vodka in it."

After reading the first book, I had so many questions. Especially after that cliffhanger. This book picks up right where the last book ended. This story had me on an emotional rollercoaster. So many things were happening. Things were getting revealed that made my jaw drop. I just love Bel and Drew. I wasn’t ready for the book to end. But I’m so excited for Sebastian’s book!
