I love Lisbeth Salander. She's one of the strongest female characters in modern day literature. When Mr. Larsson passed away unexpectedly after the third novel - I had thought she was gone too. Then Mr. Lagercrantz was given permission by Mr. Larsson's dad and brother to write a fourth one. (it did not, unfortunately, use the rumored fourth manuscript...not sure if that will ever come to light.) That fourth novel was okay but it was woefully clear that it wasn't as fantastic of a web of plot lines as we were used to. This latest attempt - The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye - is a better attempt at writing a story of worthy of Lisbeth. While it still isn't as intricate and spellbinding as Mr. Larsson's three stories - it is still a good read. I hope this is a sign of a continued upswing on the quality of books featuring Lisbeth Salander.

Another well written instalment in tGwtDT series. Our anti-heroine is in prison and dual plot threads follow honour killing and a twin series.

I wanted the magic to carry on, but it doesn't....

David Lagercrantz, who wrote books #4 (The Girl in the Spider's Web) and #5 (this book), might be a great author, but not for these books. I really loved the first three books (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest) written by Stieg Larsson. I still enjoyed the characters and the general story arcs of #4 and #5, but the writing was not up to the standard of Larsson's.

I’m gonna take a break from reading these.

David Lagercrantz's second Lisbeth Salander book is better than his first, but still falls short of the original trilogy. That being said, An Eye For An Eye has a better handle on the series' characters and the plot feels more like Stieg Larsson's books. It's an enjoyable read for Lisbeth Salander fans, and I'm fine with Lagercrantz continuing on as the series steward.

I loved learning more about the back story. Excellent continuation of the series by the new author. If read like the original books. Hoping there's a plan for #6.

Interesting plot that keeps you reading until the end, and though the author is good, he's just not the same as Stieg Larsson...these latest two books are just more shallow in their stories and characterizations. Nevertheless, it was just right for a long plane ride home.

Eye for an Eye

A good sequel to the series of books with the regular cast of characters. Book moved quickly and all the moving parts coming togetherness the end...of course.
