This new books are a third of the size form the first three and take me twice the time. So much potential and so much disappointment.

I loved the first 3 Steig Larsson books and came to love the spunky Lisbeth Salandar character. It was a real loss when Steig died unexpectedly, and he unfortunately didn't get to enjoy much of the success of his series of books. This book was written using the same characters by a different author who attempted to match the tone of Steig's books. I was hopeful, and initially happy to see familiar characters again, but unfortunately this book didn't seem to have the same kick. Maybe the novelty of Lisbeth has worn off or the characters don't have the same luster in another man's hands, but this one felt more stereotyped, reality stretched too far. Lisbeth began to feel like superwoman with superhuman strength and ability to withstand anything. I don't want to ruin the first 3 books further so wont be looking for more of these.

This is one of my least favorite books in the series not because it’s not interesting. Many things happened at the end of the fourth book that didn’t get answered I this book which suck.

Fast read that continues the Salander story. Waiting for what I think will be a last book coming out?

Hmm... is it over? Maybe? Could be?

If I were reviewing this as a standalone novel I'd probably give it a solid 3, as a continuation of a series I really enjoy I feel like this merits a 2-2.5 rating because it was so disappointing.

I don't think David Lagercrantz was a good choice to take over from Larsson as he just doesn't seem to understand Lisbeth or Mikhael, his versions of both seem flat. The Girl in the Spider's Web was better but still not anywhere near Larsson.

We know that Larsson had planned out where the story was going to go before his death, and I feel like it wouldn't have been in the direction of super predictable plot lines
Spoiler twin swap?! seriously?!
.

Its really sad that a series I loved so much seems to have been taken over by a James Patterson-esque author invested in cranking out books rather than quality. I'll probably give him one more chance, and might wait for it to come out in paperback rather than preordering a pricey hardcover.

T0ok me ages to read because I just couldn't get into it. The plot is slow and takes a while to get interesting. The prose is nowhere near as grabbing as the original trilogy. This continuation of the originals just doesn't compare. I stuck with it and read til the end but I just didn't really enjoy it.
