The ending of this book failed me, with the improbable happenings. Escapes from prison hospitals?!
Blomkvist and Salander also felt lost as the story continued. Instead of feeling like the center of the story they are washed along with everything else that was happening. I really enjoyed the previous book, but this one made me feel like I was reading a crime novel that could stand on its own yet was being sprinkled with Millennium Trilogy characters to continue the series.

In the previous book you could still hear Larsson's voice. You can tell indubitably this book was written by someone else. The characters we know sound fake, like a lesser version of themselves. The writing is poor. The plot is not exciting. No character development. I wish this book didn't exist.
I am a big fan of Lisbeth. This is an easy read. There is a subtle difference between Stieg and David's writing but it hasn't altered my idea of who Lisbeth is.

Eh. A bit disappointing since I love the series, but this one was kind of a jumble. Too many different plot lines, some pretty weird and random, a strange main story, not enough Lisbeth and the parts she was in were weird. I still hold out hope for the next installment but this was wasn't the best.
I have read every book in this series. I just could not get into this one. I struggled with book #4, but was eventually able to get into it, but that just wasn't the case with this one.
I find the author adequate, but I just do not find myself enjoying his portrayal of the Millennium Series characters.
