There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a hard year on all of us. We’ve all been dealt some kind of blow whether it be job loss, sickness, or fear. One of the things that have kept me afloat during it all has been books. Sure, there were times when I couldn’t even stomach reading but for the most part, getting lost in novels has been my escape. As 2020 comes to a close I can officially say I’ve ended the year with many amazing books under my belt. Some old, some new. One of those new ones being THE STRIKE OUT by Meghan Quinn. Ladies, (and gents) this book did NOT disappoint. Talk about a swoony and charming book boyfriend- that is EXACTLY who Holt Green is. Gosh, its so refreshing to be swept up by a character who has everything us women beg for in a man! Holt has it all! If you’re like me, you’ve been very curious about this man since the beginning of the series. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure what his story would be like, but I can now officially tell you its one of the BEST in the series! Holt and Harmony felt realistic and easy. There wasn’t any unnecessary drama or horrible breakups that make readers throw their kindles out the window. This book was refreshing, sweet, and insanely adorable in the best of ways! Sure, there were a few ups and downs (it wouldn’t be a MQ book without a little bit of angst thrown in) but it just felt RIGHT exactly how it is. I loved Holt. I loved Harmony. I loved their relationship, and I loved their little surprise in the end!

I don't even know where to start. This book was wonderful! Holt was so charming and funny, I loved his humor and how he made every situation light and easy but he was also emotional and serious. I am so glad MQ didn't give Holt a quiet shy virgin, Harmony was absolutely perfect! She made him work to get her, but she was a whiny brat about it. She was fun and sassy and everything he needed. Finally a book where the characters waited a decent amount of time and had many interactions before sleeping together. It was perfect that they waited until they said I love you. After reading many many books, things start to get predictable, but the one thing I never saw coming was that pregnancy. It made me happy to be shocked for once! I will admit, even though I have read and love a bunch of MQ books, I didn't read the first book because of the reviews of the 8 year time lapse, I found it hysterical when that was kinda brought up, brilliant!!!
Not a strike out, but not a HR
Several editing errors made for some irregular storytelling. Had those been fixed it would’ve been a solid 4.5-5 ⭐️ The heroine was a little ridiculous for my tastes, but the best friend was excellent.

Great ending to the series. Cute story for Holt and Harmony.
