The Strike Out

A cute end to a fun series. I love that we ended back in Brentwood College and that the story stuck to one continuous timeline. Unfortunately I didn’t love the main characters in this one so much. They were both fine, but overall a little boring. Harmony was infuriatingly stubborn and Holt was too aggressive/slick for my taste. I still had a fun time, just not my favorite Quinn book.

Holt and Harmony are an unlikely pair. Harmony thinks Holt is an entitled baseball player, but once she lets her walls down, she finds out that Holt is more than he appears. Holt and Harmony have a bit of an instalove connection, but things end up happening, and I really enjoyed the return to the baseball university that Meghan Quinn has created.

She's his home plate!!!

Oh how I've waited for Holt's book for so long! I was enamored with him from The Dugout and his novella in the Team Player Anthology. Let me just say this author didn't disappoint anywhere in this book.

I'm not sure how I would describe Holt Green other than I would like to keep him please?! I was captivated by Harmony and Holt's dynamic from the novella (Team Player 2 Anthology). As I've gone through this series of drool worthy baseball men, it was great to circle back towards the beginning guys.

Harmony has an opinion of Holt way before they ever say a word to each other. But Holt being the amazing person he is wears her DOWN, lol. I could feel the emotions coming off of the page. Holt is so open and honest, Harmony is genuine and real. Together they make you wish you could swap places.

I can honestly say I would love to keep Holt, just for myself okay?! He's not my favorite of these Brentwood ball players.

I Floved This Book! Just absolutely loved it. When you are cracking up before the end of page 2, you know it’s going to be an awesome read! And The Strike Out from Meghan Quinn starts 2021 off with a freaking bang! Holt and Harmony are just an addicting couple to read about and they were simply wonderful. This is not just a college romance, it is an epic love story that involves trust, loyalty, honesty, commitment and love. It was a witty, emotional, and completely addictive read.

I adored Holt and Harmony’s journey of initial enemies, to friends and then lovers and then so much more. Their snarky banter and bickering. The crazy palpable sexual tension that just kept burning brighter as time went on and their connection blossomed. These two face an epic journey of friendship, self discovery and personal growth. They have many many highs but they also have some nail biting lows. It's rollercoaster of ride that had me feeling all kinds of ways. I laughed, swooned, I teared up. It's a crazy ride. One filled with sweet bromance, crazy friends, lots of hilarious happenings and a few unexpected surprises. Their story is perfectly them in a unconventional and sometimes frustrating way. It's filled with growth, learning and choices that eventually leads them to that HEA that I love so hard.

I was so taken by this story. It was a heartwarming, touching, super sexy, funny and beautiful love story with a HEA that will leave you swooning long after. I cannot get enough of Meghan Quinn’s writing. She delivers yet another flawless story with characters that I have fallen completely in love with.

Everything I'm looking for in a cheesy sports romance. I loved FINALLY getting to meet the potential "locker room material" girl Holt was texting in a previous book.

I think Holt Green might be my favourite MQ hero yet. And he had mighty boots to fill. But the banter and the flirting between him and the sassy, closed off, independent Harmony Styles was OFF. THE. CHARTS. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face and I actually dragged this read out because I didn't want it to be over. I rarely do with rom-com's from one of the queens of the (sub)genre.
This is definitely grumpy/sunshine but the girl is the grump this time and Holt...my darling Holt is the sweetest...well expect those times when he isn't, but I don't wanna talk about that..READ THIS. For fun times, for laughs, for brilliant writing and such great friend groups and a couple that I just want to have all the good things. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

4.5⭐

I absolutely loved this one! I’ve been anticipating for Meghan’s next release and this is worth the wait. I’m obsessed with Holt and Harmony! Especially with Holt. If you think Jason’s amazing, Holt is even more amazing! He is lethal, more than the other guys! He is quick-witted, patient and obnoxious most of the time. I didn’t realise I was halfway through the book because of his banter with Harmony. At the same time, he’s so sweet to Harmony, he always make sure she’s happy, he’s just so attentive

I can’t wait to reach the end of this book but at the same time, I don’t want their story to be over just yet. I love that they’re both sure from the start that they’re it for each other, especially Holt. It took a bit for Harmony to get used to Holt’s forwardness.

IDK why there's a sudden change in his behaviour in the second half of the book. He has always appeared happy and playful. Then when they started getting more serious into their relationship, he gets anxieties about their future and get irrational when it comes to Harmony. It was a complete 180, there was no indication that he has anxiety at first. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it just took me by a surprise.

Holt Green was instantly attracted to Harmony Styles from the first moment he saw her at the diner. His friends were being jerks so that didn't bode well for his chances with her. But, Holt is nothing if not persistent. Slowly, he wears Harmony down, and before you know it they're a couple. He does what he can to make her life easier, including finding her a paid internship for her journalism major so that she can work less hours at the diner and spend that time with him. Win-win. But Harmony is hesitant until her mother gives her advice. They've made plans for the upcoming draft, going as far as figuring out how Harmony can finish her degree online and juggling it all with the surprise they never expected.

Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright made the perfect pair to voice Holt and Harmony! Beautiful storytellers who bring the words to life.

I received an advance copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

I freaking loved this book!!!! It has everything I love in a book! Just when you think Meghan Quinn has created the ultimate book boyfriend she goes and creates another one!! I absolutely loved Holt and Harmony! They had the best chemistry! This one had me laughing from the very beginning! The banter and the humor in this one was off the charts! Then you do get a touch of the feels! I didn’t want this one to end! I want more!!!! This book deserves way more than five stars! What a great start to my 2021 reads! I would absolutely recommend this book!!
