I really love Russian literature and I especially love Gogol so I always knew I was gonna enjoy this immensely. And I did. It's just such a clever commentary on human greed, corruption and, above all, stupidity. There were multiple moments where I had tears in my eyes from laughing while reading and I can only imagine it would be the same if I ever had the pleasure of seeing this play performed on stage. 5 stars and more!

A funny little drama that shows how bad people are. Four stars because I personally don't like dramas and because it was for school. And because I'm a bad person too.

While not terribly original, it is written incredibly well. The absurdity of the whole ordeal running to expose the arbitrarity of social classes stole a laugh and a half out of me.

This was funny and fast-paced. I enjoyed it immensely, and I am inspired to learn more about Gogol, who I had never heard of.
