I'm honestly fascinated by the popularity of these books. Repeating the same few jokes over and over including having one character use a wedged-in metaphor and having another character take it literally, rejecting any idea of narrative or logical consistency when something could serve entertainment or comedic value and making fun of stereotypes veiled by the fantasy setting. It's actually the perfect type of literature for the Tik-Tok Trump era; things only matter as long as they serve your immediate entertainment (political) ends.
